The Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (KICDC) is a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed with 50:50 equity partnership between Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA), the state-level body focused on industrial infrastructure development in Kerala and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), under the guidance of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC).
KICDC’s primary mission is to accelerate industrial growth in Kerala by executing the Kochi Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (KBIC) project, which is designed to boost regional competitiveness, attract high-value investments, and promote innovation-led enterprises. At the heart of this strategy is the development of Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) equipped with world-class infrastructure to facilitate ease of doing business and foster industrial excellence.
IMC Kannambra, a key component of the Palakkad Node and the development strategy emphasizes sector-focused industrial growth and environmentally sensitive urban planning. The proposed industrial composition includes Food and Beverages (37%), Non-Metallic Mineral Products (32%), and Rubber & Plastic Industries (31%).
IMC Pudussery Central, a flagship industrial cluster within the Palakkad Node, is strategically designed to catalyze sector-specific industrial growth in southern India. Its master plan prioritizes high-value manufacturing and export-oriented industries, with a dominant focus on Pharmaceuticals (58%), supported by Non-Metallic Mineral Products (10%), Hi-tech & Textiles (7%), Food & Beverages (6%), and Machinery & Equipment (6%).
IMC Pudussery West is envisioned as a sector-specific industrial enclave within the broader Palakkad Node, designed to optimize land use and accelerate industrial growth. Though relatively compact in size, the site is strategically planned to host two high-potential sectors: Food & Beverage (52%) and Fabricated Metal Products (48%).
